AND SAMHAIN APPROACHES...
There is no denying that we have begun the slide from summer into winter. On the warmest days the breeze holds a hint of falling leaves and a light note of frost. The moon rejoices as the curtain of haze that has hidden her all summer is finally lifted. This is the point upon which all other experiences are founded. We are called to contemplate change and experiences--life and death, summer and winter, planting and harvesting.
Here, then, is the time we call Samhain, a time for transformation and reflection.
Standingstones Celtic Samhain will endeavor to incorporate myth, tradition, and ancient religion into an accessible whole. We call it Celtic because the word Samhain and many of its accompaniments have come down to us as having Celtic origins. The word Samhain is actually the Irish word for November (the night also being called November Eve).
